Spunline technology
includes a large family of methods used to install, maintain,
and rehabilitate any underground pipes, mains, and drains
with minimal excavation and disruption to the environment
and general public. This process has application in a
variety of fields such as water mains, electrical, phone,
and cable systems, and gas pipes. Our goal is to minimize
alterations and damage to the terrain. Wherever the project
may be under a busy interstate highway or under a delicate
natural preserve our minimal impact technology allows
us to minimize the negative effect in both the public
and the environment.
Our pipe installation and rehabilitation systems include:
Horizontal drilling for the installation of small diameter
piping, drilling of micro tunnels, hydraulic cleaning,
and drag cleaning. We use a variety of materials in the
rehabilitation process including Epoxies, fiberglass,
and cement-mortar. The use of modern machinery, including
advanced perforation drills and video inspections, has
allowed us to develop a low impact system that is both
effective and affordable.
Since 1987 HEICOVEN has been working in the reconditioning
and maintenance of water mains of large diameter (>60
cms). To this end our work has focused on the rehabilitation
of street drains, most of which were near collapse. The
rehabilitation process included cleaning, rebuilding and
reinforcing the tubular structure, and finally the lining
of the interior walls with cement-mortar. All of this
is done without disrupting automotive or pedestrian traffic.
To date we have performed this technique in more than
700 drains throughout the country and have completed more
advanced projects repairing collapsed drainage systems
in many urban areas.
Among our most challenging works was the complete rehabilitation
of the Northern section of the underground water system
of the city of Caracas. More than 1800 mts of large diameter
pipes (1.80m), located under one of the most transited
areas of Caracas underwent our cement-mortar lining technique.
We completed this work with minimal impact to the public
and the environment.
Advantages of our System:
- No automotive transit disruptions
- Minimal environmental impact
- No need for building and coordinating detours
- No limits on excavation depths
- Reduced construction times
- Utilization and rehabilitation of existing structures
- Possible increase in pipe diameter
- Excellent preventive method
- Reduced costs |
